Togo to suspend league as they prepare for CHAN 2020
The federation announced the move in a press statement sent to media on Tuesday evening.
“After the 22nd match day, the first division national championships of the season 2019-2020 will have a suspension and will resume after the return of the national team of CHAN,” the statement reads.
The Championnat National de Premiere Division is the top football league in Togo.
It’s currently in 14th round with ASKO leading the 14-team log with 27 points. It will break after the 22nd match day set for March 8.
However, there are reports that CAF is considering canceling CHAN 2020 that is set to take place from April 4th to 25th in Cameroon.
