SC Villa share spoils with Bright Stars

SC Villa and Bright Stars winless streaks continued as the two sides made a one all stalemate at Mandela National Stadium Namboole on Wednesday evening in the 2018/2019 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Both teams have yet to get a win in the second stanza of the league as its now two games since it recommenced.

SC Villa was the first in the driving seat through lethal striker Bashir Mutanda in the 42nd minute of the game before Alfred Onek made it 1-1 on the half time interval.

However, SC Villa head coach Douglas Bamweyana was not happy with his team’s result and the way the game was officiated.

“I am not satisfied with our goal that was cancelled out because I think it would have stood, but anyway am not a referee. I will review the footage to confirm that it was an offside goal,” he said.

“I am not happy for today’s result, we had prepared well for the opponents and we expected a positive result from the game.” he added.

The result left the Uganda Premier League record champions 12th with 15 points ahead of their visit to St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende against Vipers on Saturday, while Bright Stars is 9th with 22 points from 17 outings.
