Jurgen Klopp speaks after his side was held to a 1-1 by Chelsea draw at Anfield 25 November 2017

Mohamed Salah struck first against his former club, beating Thibaut Courtois after a clever run, but Willian’s lucky effort from out wide sailed over Simon Mignolet to level the scores.

And speaking after the game, the German hailed Liverpool’s display, saying “I’m really proud.”

“[It was] a very intense game, very difficult for us against, however everybody knows, a very strong Chelsea team with quite a different approach tonight,” he said.

“Deep defending, then giving the ball to Eden Hazard—wow, not too bad to be honest!

“So we had to work really hard in situations, and to stay cool in playing football. We did it, so I’m happy.”
