Leicester City interested in signing Liverpool flop Adam Lallana

Leicester City is keenly interested in securing Adam Lallana’s signature once his contract expires at Liverpool according to reports.

The 32-year-old playmaker has been offered a deal to join Leicester with his contract at Liverpool expiring this summer.

The former Southampton player has made just three league starts this season having struggled to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans.

He is not short of options with clubs across Italy and Spain as well as Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham interested in his signature.

However, Leicester City remains heavy favorites to complete a deal with Lallana eager to work alongside his former boss Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers signed the former Southampton man in 2014 during his time at Liverpool and he went on to become an integral figure at Anfield.

Lallana’s contract at the Reds officially expires on June 30 but Premier League clubs have seven days from the beginning of June 23 to extend deals until the end of the campaign due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rodgers is a big fan of Lallana

“Adam’s a fantastic player. Someone I brought into Liverpool and I’ve been aware of his talent since he was a young player at Southampton.”

“He’s done brilliantly there and I’m sure he’ll be weighing up his options but for us we don’t need to speak about that now.”

“We’ve spoken about transfers all January and we don’t need to talk about summer ones now but he’s a top class player,” Rodgers said.

But it remains unclear whether Klopp will extend Lallana’s stay at Liverpool or he will let him go.
