Lakers’ first game after Kobe’s death sets record with 5.23 million viewers as the second most watched
In making comparisons Lakers to somebody could say that attracted a lot of attention due to the death of Kobe Bryant. This is left to debate but to return to our point of concern record got set after some days of mourning that Lakers hosted Portland Trail Blazers and attained about 5.23 million viewers.
This is incredible because according to ESPN in history this game marked to be the second most-watched. A similar game took place last year and only attracted 1.6million viewers and surprisingly with the same teams at the same time of the year.
According to NBCSports’ Nielson, the game in honour of Late Bryant before start has ever had greatest number of 5.23 million and raised towards 11pm to 6million.
This can be tracked from the beginning of the 2002-03 season in February that only got about 4.88 million viewers. At Staples Center, last Friday 31st January 2020 in a speech expressed their deep sorrow and pain to have lost a number of Lakers players.
