West Ham United comfortably eased past Cardiff City as Lucas Perez came off the bench to score a brace on Tuesday night.

Joe Ralls missed the opportunity to give Cardiff the lead when his penalty was saved by Lukasz Fabianski after Marko Arnautovic had fouled Junior Hoilett.

Substitute Lucas broke the deadlock shortly after the break after coming on for injured Marko Arnautovic in the 40th-minute. The Spaniard striker then doubled his lead moments later with a left-foot shot from Arthur Masuaku’s pass to put West Ham in a comfortable position after the break.

Michail Antonio made it 3-0 with a slanting header from a corner to sum up all three points for the Hammers. Josh Murphy scored a stoppage-time consolation goal for Cardiff City after West Ham United failed to clear a Cardiff corner kick.
