Belgium got one back after Jan Vertonghen‘s high looping header beat the Japanese goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima to make it 2-1. Super-sub Marouane Fellaini scored a trademark header to make it all square with 15 minutes remaining.
Nacer Chadli then scored with the last kick of the game to complete the Belgium comeback in extra time.
