Haaland would be playing in Juventus U-23-Riola
Mino Raiola couldn’t allow Erling Haaland join Juventus in the January transfer window because he thinks he wouldn’t be playing first team football.
Raiola who is an agent to other big-name players like Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku said that Haaland would rather be playing in U-23 squad if he joined the Italian Champions.
The 19-year-old joined Borussia Dortmund for £17m instead of Juventus searching for first team football.
‘Why Haaland didn’t move to Juventus? They would have put him in the Under-23 squad,’ Raiola told Italian outlet La Repubblica.
Haaland has gone on to score13 goals in 12 appearances for Dortmund and opened the scoring for Dortmund on return of football in Germany.
The result put Dortmund a point behind leaders Bayern Munich in the table, before the champions beat Union Berlin 2-0 on Sunday to extend their lead back to four points.
He has now scored 41 goals in 34 competitive games this season, showing why he favoured first-team minutes over progressing in a youth setup.
Haaland’s deal with Dortmund includes a £63m release clause which can be activated in July 2021.
